About The Artwork
'Autumn Ember' is one of the first paintings I had created using hot glue as texture for the tree. Autumn is my absolute favorite time of year and Trees are my favorite subject matter, because just like people, they are all different. I still get swept away when looking at this piece. It makes me wish I was walking down a path in the woods on a chilly autumn day surrounded by all the bright beautiful colors. I hope that viewers of my piece will 'fall' in love (ha ha) with the colors chosen, and the style. I want them to long for crisp, cool mornings and spark a lovely memory they had one fall evening...

About me? I am a single mother, trying to do the best I can. I have birthed four beautiful boys, 3 are living. Since my oldest committed suicide I have been trying to acclimate to life again. It's the same; but it isn't.... I have struggled my entire life to fit into boxes with impossible standards. I have had no formal art education; maybe someday. For now I am just painting what I know, and picking up along the way. Painting to me is an outlet, not a means for survival. While I dance across the line of life and spirituality, I embrace every moment. God is the only reason I have come as far in life as I have; I am the reason I have not gone as far as I could... I am thankful for every view I get, every 'pat on the back' I receive, every critique. I feel that art is ever moving, ever breathing, ever changing. Evolving as the times change.
