Autumn Fantasy Painting

Autumn is a time of transformation, change and calm. And this way, the painting is created: the landscape transforms into a theatre scene. The trunks of the trees transform into a theatre curtain with patterns in which you can still recognize the patterns of tree barks. The river transforms into a chessboard, on which the remaining pieces stand and lie scattered. The chessboard transforms into a field and the field into mountains. Huge, brightly colored flowers grow out of the orchestra pit. Although the painting is called autumn, the usual elements of autumn are absent here: golden trees, leaves on the ground, yellow and orange colors. Only the colors of the fantastic flowers in the foreground – intense, warm yellow and dark burgundy – remind me of autumn. My goal was to use other elements to convey the typical feeling of sadness that comes with the end of summer and I always feel at the beginning of autumn. In this moment you realize that summer is over and there will be a lot of beautiful warm autumn days, but nevertheless, they will be autumn days already...
