About The Artwork
Carl Jung likened the flight of birds to the spiritual development of the human soul. Like birds the soul flies upward in its search for enlightment, freeing itself from its attachment to earthly desire. But the process of self realization takes time and our attachments to materialistic desires don’t vanish immediately but with each flight, it brings back to us new wisdom for the soul to develop and learn. Like the lotus, we suffer, experience and learn to grow from the mud and bloom into enlightened souls. The process may take numerous births as the soul moves between different bodies bringing along the wisdom from its previous journeys. my first diptych.
