Gabriele Bastianelli, born in 1964, lives and works in Bevagna, Umbria I am self-taught or if you want an autarchic; the reason why I started painting is mysterious ... but it does not matter: it's still a vital principle and for me it's enough and it's moving forward. I have no intention of annoying the hypothetical reader with long and exhausting panegyrics on art, perhaps stuffing them with ridiculous pseudo-philosophical assertions or even worse psychoanalytic scientific diggings ... for me painting is an experimentation of reality as many others can do, even if practicing artistic disciplines involves, like it or not and if one is honest with oneself, the discovery of unpredictable and unexpected aspects of the ego. Personally I do not paint much or even in a serial way, develop perceptual data and introduce them into a classic interpretive cycle, a laborious, unstable job ... long; what you will find on this site is part of my production that I want to think having contents of authenticity (if then also of originality I can not say), a summary; what I pursue as a categorical imperative (and therefore a hallucination of course) is to leave works that have "long duration", something that in their context and limitations can put me in touch with a "public - world" with which to interact personally. On this I will avoid the grievances and recurring complaints of those who find no space, of those who are not understood and various paranoia. Quoting only one poet .... one only, art as life is "only in the encounter". GB
