About The Artwork

In today’s world full of modern technologies, new stories, discoveries and inventions emerge every day. But, how many people recognize what we are profoundly made of? Does the fact that technologies undeniably make our lives much easier negates the existing importance of our very origins? The “Elements” collection by Michael Deloffre focuses on portraying the four main elements of creation, in accordance with “philosophia naturalis”. In antiquity, all astronomical, physical, chemical, and biological sciences were developed merely through the observation of the nature, and later became the basis of our modern science. In his work, Michael Deloffre pays tribute to this nature, which springs from obscurantism to give birth to our technological world; A sort of return to the roots. His technique using mostly gold powder, silver powder, acrylic and natural pigments makes his paintings pure yet stand out with their impressionable, vibrant colors.
