About The Artwork
I got this idea years ago, when visiting my young nieces. It’s not just little boys who like to take things apart. Anyway, it occurred to me that our society has always had a disconnect between beauty and brains, body and soul, looks and happiness. What should be a gruesome and traumatic event, is negated by Barbie’s perfect smile and makeup. Beauty may be pain, but don’t lose your head over it. The edge of the frame is painted flat black, and is suitable to be hung as it is. However, any frame can be added to the painting if you choose. The surface is quite flat, even though many layers of very thin paint have been added.
