About The Artwork
I have several hunt scenes in my portfolio. I was commissioned to do several watercolors of this genre of work several years ago. I enjoyed it immensely, so i am always happy to add to this collection. This painting, called "Barking up the wrong tree", started as a title and from there I built a painting around the name. Challenging for sure, as none of the characters were found together. Another fun fact about this painting was how I changed the season from mid winter, with heavy snow on the ground, to early Spring. It made more sense to complete this work in the Spring season, this painting depicts the final hunt of the season. I have worked exclusively in the medium of watercolor for about 18 years, having tried Acrylics, but never really feeling challenged by that medium.
