Anita Ognjanovska Full-Time Artist | Skopje, Macedonia Anita Ognjanovska is a passionate full-time artist with a career spanning over 15 years. Based in Skopje, North Macedonia, her work has captivated audiences both locally and internationally. She has held eight solo exhibitions and participated in more than 35 group exhibitions around the world, with her pieces residing in private collections across America, Australia, Europe, and Asia. Art as Life Ognjanovska’s art is a reflection of her life—a medium through which she explores themes of love, freedom, passion, and courage. Her work transforms everyday moments and emotions into visually stunning, abstract compositions, blending spontaneity with deep emotional resonance. Drawing inspiration from her surroundings, the interplay of colors, textures, and the beauty of the ordinary, she lets intuition guide her creative process, allowing each painting to unfold naturally. She is captivated by the interplay of limited colours and rich textures. Her work often explores abstract and minimalist forms, allowing viewers to immerse themselves in the dynamic interplay between colour and texture. She revels in the exploration of diverse media, including acrylic, oil, cold wax, collage, and mixed media, constantly pushing the boundaries of techniques and materials to create engaging contemporary artworks. Working with a wide variety of tools and materials, including brushes, knives, leaves, and even her own hands, Ognjanovska’s paintings offer a rich, tactile experience. She frequently works across multiple canvases simultaneously, with oil and cold wax techniques to evoke deeper, hidden emotions, and acrylics for a more dynamic and spontaneous expression. Artworks and Collaborations Her portfolio consists of over 1,200 works, predominantly in oil on canvas, acrylic, and mixed media. Many of these are housed in private collections in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Miami, London, Berlin, Copenhagen, Hong Kong, and Zurich, to name a few. Among her notable collaborations: • A unique Persian rug was crafted from her painting "Serenity" by Art in Rug in Los Angeles, California. • Her painting "White Rainbow" was featured on the cover of Vancho Nakev’s poetry collection, White Rainbow, Macedonia, 2022. • Another of her works, "Lively", graced the cover of Nakev’s 2024 poetry collection Ultraviolet, promoted in Ohrid, Macedonia.
