About The Artwork
According to a (Chinese) legend, a gardener bred a peony variety of stunning beauty. But the local prince, out of envy, decided to destroy everything, and when he came to the garden, he began to ruthlessly trample all the flowers. The unfortunate gardener looked at this orgy with tears in his eyes. Then he could not stand it and beat the envious prince. Luckily, the peony fairy appeared out of nowhere, waved her wand, and the garden of dreams was reborn. The offended prince promised to execute the gardener and destroy the garden. But then, as if by magic, all the peonies turned into beautiful girls, and waved their sleeves so that the prince was blown away by the wind. The astonished and pleased audience released the skilled gardener in joy, and the peony garden continues to delight many more people with its beauty.The picture is painted in oil. Canvas on a stretcher. Most of the picture was painted with a palette knife, large strokes. But, I wanted to convey the beauty of these flowers by placing them in an atmospheric background.
