I compare the beauty of women to our landscape and I want my viewer to see the beauty of nature when it's untouched by the people just like what happened during the pandemic when nobody is going out and nature is blooming by itself because nobody is destroying them.

About the Artist

Roy Espinosa

Philippines

Roy C. Espinosa is a visual artist and a cultural and art advocate. He is the founding president of The Filipinas Institute for the advancement of Arts and Culture (FILARTS), Inc., a nonprofit cultural institution that advances the rights and welfare of the Filipino artists and the preservation of the indigenous arts and culture in the Philippines. He is one of the official delegates of the Art Dialogo, a cultural exchange program between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the Government of Malaysia, in August 2016.

During the height of his career in the 1980s, Espinosa garnered numerous awards and commendations because of his works.

Emerging from artistic hibernation in 2014, Roy, driven by his desire to help fellow Filipino artists to be known, began publishing The Filipino Artists Magazine, as a platform to promote both masters and emerging artists in the country. To date, he has published several coffee table books as an attempt to contribute something in the world of art criticism and appreciation.

As a proponent of Philippine arts and culture, Roy was given awards and commendations for his contributions to the art scene and has been invited to judge several art competitions around the city. His works have been featured in several newspapers and magazines and have been joining a number of local and international group shows.
