Becoming friends with darkness Painting

One time I was walking my dogs at night in the woods. I am sometimes oddly paranoid for no reason, and the fear hits me out of nowhere. It is not like I am afraid of something, in particular, it is just the feeling of fear. It has never happened to me before having my dogs with me. But one thing about me is, that I get a lot stronger when I have someone to take care of. So this time instead of silently fading away, I rushed to my fear head-on. I was looking for anything to be afraid of, but of course, there was nothing. This time it was fear that did the fading. I felt stronger, much stronger. Next time I went to the wood alone to have a cigarette. I was looking for the fear in the darkness to make me stronger again. There was nothing. I felt alone. This time the darkness was creeping from the inside. Thoughts about getting abandoned tried to rip me apart. These thoughts are not new to me, so I am quick to destroy them. I went at them like they are nothing, and they are nothing. I felt the strength grow once again. At this moment I knew, that darkness of any kind is there to make me stronger. Of course, I knew it before in the way of a sentence, but this was a pure realization, with no form of regular speech. At this moment I became friends with darkness.
