About The Artwork

Since ancient times, the cat in many people of the world was a sacred and revered creature. Currently, the attitude towards cats is more earthly. Now this animal lives in almost every family. Since childhood, cats have always lived in my house; I have cared for them, treated and loved them, so the topic of cats is very close to me. Now I have a few cats living in my studio, which inspired me to create a series of paintings of cats. This is one of the pictures of this series. by Nina Florya.

Artist's statement: When I get carried away with my work, I transmit my impressions in the range of colors so much that I look at the finished picture with surprise. When I start working, I never know what a peice will look like when it's finished. Nina Florya was born in Moscow, Russia in 1991. Parents: Russian mother, father is from Moldova, this explains the unusual surname - Florya. As a child, Nina watched her mother's work as an artist and sculptor with passion, so there were no doubts about her future profession, She always knew that she would be an artist. A few years ago (2017), Nina went to live in North Ossetia, where she studied with a local artist and discovered intuitive painting. From this moment, a new cycle of creative path began. Now she lives on the territory of Russia in Vladikavkaz, and sometimes comes to Moscow to take part exhibitions. Since childhood, Nina has been interested in everything mysterious. So she began studying esotericism, theosophy and spiritual practices. Some of the paintings reflect her facsination. Her favorite artist is Claude Monet. When Nina studied at art school, she was given an album with a biography of the artist Claude Monet. Having seen his series of paintings for the first time, she wondered how you can draw the same landscape with different moods, at different times of the day, and still it would look like a whole. Most of all she admires the Rouen Cathedral series and the Haystacks series.
