About The Artwork
This painting was inspired by a photograph by Phillipe Saint Laudy of birds soaring lazily over the fog rising mist-like over water and mountains and beneath a pale lavender tipped sky. I tried to convey the feeling I had looking at this poem like scene, We have all seen birds wheeling about in the sky wondering what it would feel like if only we could fly like birds.

I started painting at an older age although I have been drawing all of my life. After I graduated from CCNY in NYC, I won a contest and was admitted into the Cooper Union Art School in NYC. After studying with them over a year I was offered a job at M.I.T. on the Apollo Space Program and went to Cambridge MA with my wife and 2 small children and settled in Brookline, MA where I still live with my wife who is a Master Weaver and Textile Designer.
