About The Artwork

This piece is from a body of work started last year that is inspired by an art mash up of Le Corbusier, Paul Klee, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Gerhard Richter. I hope one notices the movement, space and feelings provoked by the color, and the light. There is a date hidden in the composition for the crazy year of 2017 that is the start of a true challenge of the status quo. It yanked me out of my usual preoccupation with the style of the French 17th Century artists, into modern day. The painting is produced with high quality Old Holland Acrylics for the under painting and is finished with Williamsburg and Sennelier oil paint. It is mounted on stretcher bars and is completely ready to hang. Framing is unnecessary.

I paint to figure out what I think about the world; to discover the things I do not have words for. I am interested in the tension between abstraction and realism.
