ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting represents a side of my work that I haven't shown on this site until now. Painted on the back side of vintage glass, set in a Craftsman era window casing. The old window has been trimmed down to make it lighter visually, but still showing the distressed surface that comes with age. I have done many botanical subjects in this format but the Black Morel with the surreal quality of it pocked shape is a favorite. The window frame is painted in an off-white color called 'Minced Onion'.
