BLOOD Painting

This piece of art is a hand-made embroidery on dark red cotton. It's an original work, embroidered directly on fabric. For this work I've used traditionnal embroidery techniques.The embroidery creates a bas-relief effect, and it's the reflection of light on the letters that highlights the shape. The color embraces the viewer, and watch it is like a deep dip in the color. The work is signed on the side. About my work: The words, the signs inspire me. My starting point is the fabric: a special texture, a precious velvet, an intense color ... My backdrop is the fabric. I embroider by hand evocative words on it. I love embroidery not only because it's a slow process that forces me to slow down, but also because it's concrete and it creates unduplicable and unique pieces of art. This work needed more than 30 hours of work.
