My dad-in-law has a sailing boat which he no longer competes with but runs away from the shores crowded with tourist folks on a hot mid summer day in Torquay (aka Torbados). My hubby, Devon born and bread, he learnt sailing same time he could walk and I spent building up my suntan on shore of a Caspian sea with no experience of regatta in whatsoever. So these floaty seascapes inspired by happy holiday adventures in far away places I then visited where watching the world go by and nowhere to hurry is a thing. Long summer days and good vibes. If you are like me - champagne-on-the-deck kind of person vs hard core sailing in stormy winds, the Blue Bay is just the right adventure story to reflect that attitude. There is of course the deeper side behind the pretty turquoise images and weightless peacefulness of floaty boats. The series address the issue of how we deal with urban stress. It's a metaphor to embrace & challenge your inner explorer seeking the new adventure. Paintings are created with watercolour and a layer of oil boats - two stroke wonder, created to complete the minimal look of this highly successful seascape collection

Yuliya is a multidisciplinary painter based in the lush countryside of Berkshire, UK. Originally from Kazakhstan, she has lived in the UK for the past 20 years. Trained in classical art from ages 10 to 16, Yuliya was on track to attend Moscow's top art school, but the collapse of the Soviet Union redirected her path, leading her to study law instead. She holds a Master’s in Law from Queen Mary University of London, a Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP Waterloo, and an MBA from KIMEP, before finally returning to painting full-time two decades later. Since 2015, Yuliya has gained recognition as an independent artist, exhibiting her work in London galleries and art fairs across the country. Her art has appeared in notable movie sets, including Marvel's Doctor Strange (2016) and ABC's Scandal (2017), and has been showcased in exclusive London members' clubs, stylish hotels, and luxury dining venues in both the UK and US. Interior designers frequently acquire her pieces for yachts, cruise liners, and international resorts, and her work is held in private collections worldwide. Yuliya's collections are characterized by an elegant flow and ethereal glow, exploring themes of fragility and strength in her skyscapes, the isolation of the sea in her dreamy sailboat series, urban dynamics in her Connected works on paper, and the cyclical nature of florals in her Blossom collection. Each piece invites viewers into a dreamy elemental realm, evoking a sense of light nostalgia with its weightless emotions. fall involve with me on instagram: @y_martynova_ where i show my life, my work, my beautiful house, daughter and occasionally a hiding hubby
