About The Artwork

Materials: Oil+ acrylic on Finest Italian cotton canvas gloss glazing (not plasticy but we'll protected) loveliest mint turquise very delicate (much better than on this photo) colour tiny boats floating and dropping shade from their hull into the crystal clear coral & sand bay florescent orange bouys * all the paints, canvas, finishes used for this artwork are of professional artist (not student) quality Size: W120 x H50 cm / H19.7 x W47" 1.8 cm projection off the wall crisp white edge - thin line - perfect for a versatile framing *bear in mind its much nicer mintier colours and beautiful light locked in. No camera is sensitive enough to reflect these amazing colours. You have my absolute promise its way more impressive in person. The Blue Bay collection is inspired by my apre-reggatta sailing experience in Devon. Growing up on the shores of the Caspian Sea and many adventures in the tropical seas across Caribbean, Brazil, Mediterranean and Indian Ocean I've been lucky to travel through. Having first hand regatta experience, I can honestly say - Champagne-on-the-deck is the kind of sailing I find most enjoyable and the kind of feel I transcend into my marine paintings. Care and stress free. Sun and salt in your hair. Reflections on water. Endless horizon views. It's also my take on the areal photography craze and attempt to create my very own get away reality where your eyes sink into the peaceful bliss. The series explore the idea of escape from urban stress and into the lavish tropical horizon Paintings are created with watercolour and a layer of oil boats - two stroke wonder, created to complete the minimal look of this highly successful seascape collection ** Accept commissions

Statement: As a multidisciplinary artist Yuliya enjoys experimenting across traditional media developing several collections in parallel, which are heavily influenced by her habitat. Just like her approach to painting, behind the striking aerial seascapes, dreamy sky canvases and delicate watercolour geometry on paper or expressive charcoal drawings there lies an adventure. Questioning 'what if', 'where to' and answering 'lets run away’ Yuliya's paintings take you on the journey offering a visual escape not just for your eyes but with deeper symbolism at heart. Seemingly light and often romantic creations are kaleidoscopic puzzles channeling enveloping sense of calmness throughout. While her subject is quintessentially serene, her processes are complex and labour intense. Behind effortless simplicity there is a real skill and no room for error and brutal selection. The canvas that have not achieved desired finish or composition get discarded or painted over. So only the best make it to the viewer. Past: Born in USSR and raised in a small oily town on the shores of the Caspian Sea (Kazakhstan), a promising art school graduate age 15, Yuliya was swayed to train as a lawyer instead. Moved to Aberdeen in 2005 after working for a Kazak engineering energy firm, Yuliya have worked in energy sector in London till 2010 moving to private clients and wealth management after completing master degree and conversion course in English law . Since 2015 when she became a professional full time artist after 15+ years legal career, Yuliya became a frequent participant of London art fairs, popular with high end interior designers, hospitality sector art consultants and gallerists. In 2020 Yuliya became a mother, moved out to Berkshire to live her happy ever after in a beautiful countryside renovating her 20s house and building an art studio. (Fun) F a c t s: Yuliya lived in 4 countries, visited 40, speaks Russian & Greek, was married twice before she found her forever number 3, renovated 3 properties and can’t function without coffee in the morning. She paints listening to Stanford lectures on nature of startups and neuroscience, Berkley on economics and doesn’t watch tv. Has opinions about everything in geopolitics, keeps track of property markets, would become a stand up comedian if art career goes tits up and paint all your north facing rooms in dark colours.
