About The Artwork
A very early piece in my career. Date is approximate (1967). I was in an abstract expressionist period at the time. The work was inspired by that movement and I was exploring my own interest in calligraphic, very free brushwork and forms created by intersecting curves and spirals. I prefer oils for their fluidity. Exhibited widely in Italy: Rome, Milan, Bologna, Florence, Terni, etc. A professional educator, taught full-time at Lane Community College for over 25 years and worked as a manager for Lane County Regional Information System. Arts activist founding many alternative art shows and galleries in the Eugene, OR and surrounding areas.
