ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting was inspired by the shelagh na gig, pre-Christian Goddess carvings found in France and Spain in the 11th century. These images were later assimilated into the Christian religion and have been found in parts of England and Ireland. It is a message in a bottle, thrown out into the cosmos, saying that the ancient holistic view is alive and well.
