Showed at the The Other Art Fair
Artist featured in a collection
Recently I have been overpainting older works and tried out new ways of expressing emotions and feelings. Here I started to play around with colors, enjoying the texture of it, the palette knife and was completely absorbed in what it felt like. "Breaking In III" can be seen as just a landscape with waves coming in, but can also be understood as emotions and feelings breaking in, things can happen in our life and break in... life means constant change, we have to deal with it, it can be stormy, it can be wild, it can drown us, but it can also contain great beauty. In this painting the emphasis lies on the light - where there is light, there is hope! 20x20x2 cm on gallery wrapped canvas, framed 23x23x2 cm. Signed on the back. Ready to hang. Sides painted. White washed matte wooden floating frame. (c) Gesa Reuter 2018

Germany
Based in Germany, Gesa Reuter’s artistic practice started in 1996. She has since studied the techniques of the old Dutch masters, layering selfmade gouache, egg tempera and sometimes oil to build her paintings with different layers of paint from thin to thick. Recently she has discovered the power of watercolours and ink in her work, enjoying the way the watery materials leave marks and traces to describe her inner feelings and emotions. Rather than painting an accurate visual representation of a landscape, she prefers to use the power of memory; her artworks are an expression of her feelings and emotions in the moment of experiencing the landscape." (Inside Artists, Issue 9, Summer 2017) So far, her works have been exhibited in Germany and Europe, mainly sold to private collectors in Germany, U.S.A., UK, NL, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, to architects, small companies, private medical and psychological practices. In public collection of Amateras Foundation, Bulgaria, NHS England and Kunsthaus Stove, Germany.
