I used a couple of old faded snap shots from the late 1970's of an old steel bridge across a creek in Everton, Arkansas. The bridge was replaced with a modern concrete span in the early 1980's. I changed the background scenery to something whimsical and typical of the local landscape.
I miss the old things in the country: the old bridges, the old stores and gas stations. I just miss the simple quiet things of the old days. This picture makes me think of those things.

Born in 1961, the day before John F. Kennedy took the oath of office. My family is orginally from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I spent most of my childhood traveling in an Air Force family (Louisana, Guam Virginia, Texas, Colorado). Spent the last 3 years of high school on our family farm in the Ozarks of Arkansas. I joined the Air Force for 6 years (Great Britain, Colorado and Nebraska). I spent 3 years as an Air Force Security Policeman and 3 years an Imagery Interpreter. Joined the Arkansas Army National Guard upon leaving the Air Force, where I served in FDC (Fire Direction Control). I became a Chaplain Assistant and deployed with 1/142nd Field Artillery Brigade and served in combat during Desert Storm in 1991. I retired from the military in 1999. Currently, I live on my wife's family farm in the Ozark mountains of Arkansas.
