The grid of dots is made from US dollar bills. I collected them from investors and then created charcoal with them. Beneath the grid is white oil paint. Over the grid, circles and ovals scatter like coins and dollar bills. They fall through the grid, getting heavier and larger at the bottom.

I create both abstract and representational oil paintings. I paint wet into wet and often mix colors on the canvas to blur the boundaries between objects. My intent is to create a feeling of interconnectedness and ambiguity so that we can experience the world a little differently. I also create charcoal from unique materials such as money, food, documents and plants. These materials have meanings that I can integrate into a drawing or painting.
