About The Artwork
This is a small study of a businessman's head for a larger painting. I captured the essence of his features with a minimal use of brush strokes. My work is inspired by the German Expressionists and also Jack Levine. This light weight piece is ready to frame and painted on coated correx board. I enjoy producing studies with minimal brush strokes that capture the essence of the subject and giving them attributes that allows the viewer to visualize the person. I also enjoy playing with color for these studies. I paint in oil on coated surfaces. The Correx board is lightweight and sucks up the excess oil quicker so I can add to the study if needed.
