About The Artwork
This painting is part of a quadruple called "Seasons of Love". In this small series of four, each painting represents one stage of love. "Butterflies in the stomach" depicts the stage where you feel totally in love and many fantasies fly in your head as butterflies in your stomach. It is painted in the colors of spring, fresh and happy. Each painting relates to a season in nature as well as a season in love. I live in the Nederlands therefore, the original name is in Dutch called "Vlinders in de buik".
