Cú Chulainn is the young legendary hero in Irish mythology known for his outbursts of rage during combat: "Warp spams" which transformed him into an unimaginable being, changing his looks while enraged. I was first introduced to Cú Chulainn, while reding the Táin Bó Cúailnge , which is part of Irish mythological literature. The first time I read about Cú Chulainn's physical description, it seemed beautiful to me. According to the 1998 edition of the Celtic Encyclopedia, this young hero was of short stature and dark-skinned. "Lugaid saw his chance and threw the final spear. This time it hit Cú Chulainn in his side. The great warrior knew he was about to die. He dragged himself to a nearby standing boulder and with his cloak, tied himself upright facing his enemies. No one dared approach him for three days. Finally when they saw a raven land on his shoulder, his enemies knew he was dead."

Dariana Arias is an independent artist residing in Washington D.C. Her artistic practice relies on the visual arts, analog and digital, making use of various media to produce abstract and figurative pieces. Dariana's abstract works are the end result of automatic & instinctual painting, occurring when the spontaneous flow of creativity transforms from being a feeling, a word or an idea, into a visual manifestation on the canvas, without any preconceived sketch. On the other hand, Dariana's figurative works are reflective of socio-cultural attitudes. Dariana also experiments with writing, and is currently exploring micro-length videography. Dariana's artistic journey started during childhood, when she learned the art of oil painting under the instruction of Venezuelan muralist, Edmundo Alvarado. Mentioned art lessons focused on the landscape art movement known in Venezuela as El Paisajismo Larense, which aimed at praising the beauty of rural Venezuelan landscapes. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Philosophy from the George Washington University.
