Natural light enhances the sheen differences in the paints
This is part of a new series I’ve been working on that is very different from what I typically do which is very fluid and loose and ethereal. In CHROMOLOGY, I create distinctive and unexpected color palettes to draw an emotion from the viewer. By keeping the forms straightforward and geometric, the magic is not only in the color choices, but in the variety of sheens and finishes within them. Painted during our worlds quarantine for Covid-19, my own mood was muddled between confusion at what the future holds, and joy at the gifted time without the noise and distractions of usual life...hence the silver lining. These pieces are elegant and modern and can be paired well in a space with the loose abstract ink pieces in my portfolio.
