Her pictorial creations have always been inspired and stimulated by her travels and encounters with cultures and nature, both European and tropical. She takes lots of photos and makes lots of sketches, which I then use for my creations. Naturally, she wanted to take photos underwater to immortalize what she saw. Once in her studio, she draws inspiration from her photo library, and tries to transcribe the colorful and graphic impressions she has seen underwater, trying to express the emotion the subject gave her at the precise moment she discovered it for the first time. She seeks to express the explosion of color that bursts forth in the coral reef, as well as the surreal poetry of the unexpected forms taken by the animal world. Fish, coral and all the fauna and flora of the seabed are inexhaustible sources of inspiration.

Her pictorial creations, marked by her experience as a textile designer, play with shapes and colours that interlock to invade the space like a jigsaw puzzle. Florence draws you into her graphic world like a game. Initially, in a rapid, spontaneous gesture, the lines criss-cross, intertwine and merge, imprisoning the colour and giving it its full force. Then she defines a framing that will enhance the strong elements of the painting. Florence's pictorial treatment comes close to narrative figuration. We find the partitioned planes, simplified forms, highly coloured flat tints and compositions of a whole generation of artists who loved to play with lines and unstructured forms (Picasso, Adami, Chaissac, Matisse, Niki de St Phalle, Fernand Leger, Miro, Giacometti...). Florence is passionate about cultural and ethnic discovery. Her travels are her main sources of inspiration, and her paintings are often responses to the colourful emotions she experiences on her visits around the world. Discovering scuba diving was a real revelation, and underwater landscapes have become an almost inexhaustible source of inspiration for her. The explosion of colour and the proliferation of strange shapes in the underwater world catch the eye and plunge us into a fantastic world.
