Painting: Oil on Canvas.
CRUST intends to emphasize that "This light, this element is immeasurable, so delicately reified in the colour that it is impossible to say whether the colour is dissolved in light, or if the light is coloured", as Rothko puts it.
CRUST is about the perceptual relation between the shock of the pure tone of green (a mixture of veronese and emerald green over layers of yellow and red ) and the gestural and dynamic surface next to it, as well as underneath this greenish layer.
This painting describes the feeling of being submerged in an environment that you can somehow leave outside your own being.
