Sabine Deluze

About the Artist

Sabine Deluze

France

Sabine Deluze lived in Paris, France, living in Vence in France.

Her painting is the whole explosion of her life redesigned in color with her heart.

She creates graphic, abstract visuals. In the composition of its shapes and colors are sometimes born figures in silhouettes. She captures the light far from reality.

She improvises in the flow of a rhythmic gesture. She invents a free poetic and imaginary writing without grammar, informal.

She uses mixed media and techniques: ink, acrylic, gouache, oil paint and Posca.
, I developed my artistic identity early on through a dual engagement: with visual art and with sound. My childhood was shaped by a formative ritual—weekly outings with my father to Parisian museums and concert halls. Within this immersive environment, certain images became foundational—foremost among them Claude Monet’s *Water Lilies* at the Orangerie—offering an experience of painting as atmosphere and immersive field, where light does not merely describe but envelops.
A connection to the "imprint"—encompassing gesture, sign, and trajectory—deeply informs her practice, situating it in a space where painting remains close to writing and where the mark retains something of the infancy of language.
My work is also nourished by a strong affinity for Far Eastern arts, rooted in family history linked to Vietnam. This gives rise to a keen focus on lacquered surfaces, mother-of-pearl, reflections, and optical depth—elements that reappear in my canvases as layers, transparencies, and luminous densities.
It is a space of correspondences: rhythm, variations, tonalities, chromatics, pauses, and silences organize the composition like a visual score. The balance between horizontality and verticality, between zones of tension and suspension, structures work in which texture acts as a tempo.
In this context, calligraphy emerges as a central concept—not as a formal quotation, but as an expression of the body, where the gesture conveys duration, density, and energy. Thus, my painting unfolds as a space of passage—between memory and matter, between inner landscape and vibration.
