This simple boat carries a memory of "home". The ocean is a powerful symbol of life cycles, but it is also the reality of many refugees who must flee their country, due to war, poverty, or other circumstances. For most refugees, all they can carry with them is their memories of a place, of a family, of a way of living that has vanished. This is a boat to carry displaced people, who are landing in search of a new home.
