This painting was awarded in the “Artbox.Project Miami 3.0” and “Artbox.Project Palma 1.0” competitions. It represents the clear and multicolored water of the "Cenote cristalino" of Playa del Carmen, in the Gulf of Yucatan in Mexico. The multitude of shimmering colors reflected by the light covers all shades of blue, green, yellow and white. These cenotes are small underwater caves dug by sea erosion in ancient times in the rock, where you can swim to observe fish and turtles moving in the water. This landscape is directly inspired by the trip of the artist Karine d’Arlhac to Playa del Carmen. She fell in love with the place, dazzled by the charm of the translucent waters of the cenotes, changing tones depending on where you move in the cave, and more or less lit by daylight at the entrance and outside. the exit from the “tunnel”.

France
From her early childhood, Karine d'Arlhac was made aware of all forms of fine art thanks to her family, which had a strong artistic fiber : drawing, painting, sculpture and music were regularly practiced there. His hypersensitivity, sometimes exacerbated, often inflamed, made him choose painting. Having lived in Africa and Europe for part of his childhood and adolescence, his travels forever changed his personality. They amplified her perceptions by absorbing the cultures and the incredible diversity of arts she was confronted with, as much in shapes, as in colors, and sometimes unusual media. From her wanderings, she brought back the strength of movement, the power of colours and the intensity of light. In 1984, her paternal grandmother, Gisèle, took her to see Pablo Picasso's exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. It was a real eye - opener! Karine d'Arlhac fell madly in love with Contemporary Art, which corresponds to her search for the unusual, the unexpected, the extraordinary, springing up where we least expect it. His signature "K" in the shape of a star is his course, his compass (symbol that luck and the muses of creativity accompany and inspire him in his work) is also linked to Gisèle who, passionate about ancient Egypt, explained to him that the "Ka" symbolized the soul, the vital energy, the life force, the spiritual double of a person. Just like the works of an artist who are an extension of himself...! With her particular look at our environment, she aspires to share the magic of the beauty of the world, immortalizing the essence of the diversity of our planet Earth. Today, his ambition is to make a full living from his art. So, it was only natural for her to take the plunge and successfully apply to national and international art competitions.
