Chained Painting

This piece is called 'Chained' for what may seem obvious reasons, but when I started this piece I felt chained. Unable to get out of a situation. However as I progressed I found a freedom in the interlinked circles that form the chain. No beginning and no end, just as everything else that is eternal. Chains can symbolise much less positive matters. It is interesting that when I began this piece I felt restrained but slowly through the process of creating it, I found a new freedom inside, one that reminds me that behind every locked door there is a potentially unlocked entrance into a new life. Every time we step out of the door we have the potential to change the future of ourselves and others. Choosing to be that positive change will break the negative chains and reinforce the positive chains, such as strength of friendship and how we are all intrinsically linked.
