About The Artwork
Chandraghanta is the third of the Nava-Durgas (Nine Durgas). She is called as "Chandraghanta" because she wears a crescent moon on her head, that resembles a "Bell".I have depicted her according to the description given in following mantra. पिण्डजप्रवरारुढ़ा चण्डकोपास्त्रकैर्युता | प्रसादं तुनते मह्यं चन्द्रघण्टेति विश्रुता || Translation: May that Durga Devi, who rides on Garuda, the king of the birds, who is endowed with intense anger and violence and is renowned by the name of Chandraghanta, bestow her grace on me.
