Art Description

Painting: Acrylic, Household and Spray Paint on Canvas.

This painting was part of the Rocking Art Exhibition held at the Karoo Art Hotel (23/12/2016 - 05/01/2017).

This is painting no. 6 from my Rock Art Series. You can read more about what this series is about here at my site: http://cherieroedirksen.com/the-rock-art-series/

This painting was subliminally/intuitively painted to the music of South African musician, Templeton.

I paint whatever the music invokes. I have blogged about the whole experience (with 'start to finish' photographs) — you can read that here: http://cherieroedirksen.com/2014/03/05/rock-art-painting-no-6-templeton-the-photographic-process-and-grand-reveal/ and here: http://cherieroedirksen.com/2014/03/12/what-on-earth-is-a-chaoskampf-demiurge-you-seriously-need-to-know-this/ (this blog explains more about how I came up with the name of the painting, etc).

This painting (and music) evoked certain keywords that I scribble down on the side of the canvas. They included:

-Strength
-Powerful
-Humble
-Life by Design
-Life by Desire
-Fire/Flame/Phoenix
-Sea of Emotion
-Passion
-Passivity

I suppose it doesn't come as a big surprise that these feelings were stirred within as he is also my life partner.

Keywords: phoenix, templeton, cherie roe dirksen, rock art, painting to music, Rock Art Series, painting to rock music, michael dirksen, moon people, moon, musician
