"Cherry blossom I" Painting

This painting depicts a cherry tree blossoming, announcing the arrival of spring after a long german winter. You can feel the vibrations of the nature in a movement, like a dance. I chose the acrylic medium because it served the quickness and spontaneity of this energetic work. The composition is inspired by Chinese traditional landscape painting that I learned in the South of China. I placed this oversized canvas on the floor and painted using brushes that I had previously attached to long bamboo sticks. This system gave me the freedom to use my whole body and to express both a delicate and powerful gesture.
