Painting: Acrylic, Wood, clear gloss coat, Plaster on Canvas, Wood.
Following my first visit to China in 2008, I felt that the colors and composition of this piece reflected my impression of the region. I concentrated my visit in Hong Kong. The Chinese love to surround themselves with bold colors, especially red and yellow. Black is one color I rarely use, but I felt it was right for this piece. I wanted to paint something big to convey my impressions of China, so this 48" square painting says it all! This painting is gallery wrapped making framing unnecessary.
