About The Artwork

Dialogue between Nature and Humans: Mangrove and Chair In this imaginary dialogue, a mangrove tree and a chair discuss the relationship between nature and humans. The mangrove tree invites the chair to sit and enjoy the natural world, but warns that humans should only be present if they are willing to respect nature. The mangrove tree also points out the many ways in which nature is capable of healing itself, such as mangroves' ability to protect coastlines from erosion and their ability to turn salt water into fresh water.

I am an Italian artist born in Rome, where I live and work. The first experience I remember as an artist dates back to when I was very young and I loved to draw and cut and paste by hiding under the living room table in my parents' house, everything I do now in my studio. Certainly resin is a constant in my production. Over the years, I have developed a technique centred on the chromatic and structural relationship between liquid matter, pigments and the sign line. The latter is sometimes embodied in figures with liquid strokes, deliberately far removed from a didactic figurative. Thus, the protagonists of the works in the 'Suspended Atmospheres' series, for example, are colour and light, symbols of my intimate dimension, and the sign which, when present, lives in a timeless and metaphysical dimension. While in the latest works in the series 'Close Your Eyes' there is a dualism between basic abstractionism and figurative symbolism. I divide the work into two phases, the first one very instinctive in which I pour the various colours, enamel, acrylic and resin on the canvas, and then in the second phase I combine elements of nature with objects related to the sphere of everyday life, which evoke human presence and refer to a conscious use of the environment. Chairs, armchairs and interiors announce women and men without making them manifest, leaving the observer with a feeling of experience linked to his or her own emotional sphere. Through these, I would like to invite us to stop, to close our eyes to enjoy the breath of creation and in doing so to finally see a new reality to be experienced in harmony with Nature.
