About The Artwork
I painted quite a number of pleinaire night scenes in New York City. It had a great deal to do with the movement of lights in the darkness of the streets and the people and cars milling about that I wanted to represent in some way. This painting "Cinders" is from Times Square and seemed to be a burnt out place. I used pallet knife on canvas as I usually do so the piece is somewhat expressionistic and textured. It is framed with lattice and wired for hanging
