City of the Archangels Painting

Latex paint and china marker on canvas / 84" x 72". This piece was executed during my final quarter of the Masters of Arts program at SCAD. The process is drawing on canvas with a china marker and getting the basic shapes in place, than brushing Liquin or linseed oil onto the drawing, thus smearing and bleeding the grease marks of the china marker. I employ very little detail work in this approach. Currently, this painting is on display at Tapa Tapa, a trendy tapas restaurant in midtown Atlanta.
