All the thoughts we open up to when staring into the deep sea, sometimes things seem impossible. Closeout is part of my new coastal series. I find it tantalizing. The title is a surfing term for a wave almost impossible to ride. The color blends from white then lime green meeting deep shades of blue. The title for this painting was suggested by an old friend who lives life on the coast of Maine.

Liz Friel Fine Art - Contemporary abstract paintings. Atmospheric, ethereal, and ocean-inspired landscapes/seascapes on canvas and board. STATEMENT ABOUT MY ART Abstract painting communicates emotion and thought in an alternative perspective. The idea of communication that is further involved is about memories, the unconscious, how the image in the painting resembles something. Certain images, textures and compositions can cause emotions and visions to surface yet still lay vague to the viewer. My intention is in hope that viewers will find something under the surface, to look beyond the obvious. Some of my motivation emerges from an attraction to line, light and space designs in interior areas and architecture. However, it really comes down to creating art because I need to for myself. Thank you for viewing my artwork. About the artwork; Most paintings are acrylic on 1 1/2 inch canvas, stapled and signed on back! I live in South East Florida with my artist husband, D. Friel, and 2 children. Thank you, Liz Friel Liz Friel Fine Art #ConnectedByWater
