Cluster 2 Painting

A small painting, made by building up layers of blue and yellow to make a luminous green, which was then painted black. The shapes, spheres and lines were made by scrubbing back through the black to create negative marks. The painting could be read as a place from outer space, but equally be read as a nocturnal scene, either man-made or natural. The shapes are naive and purposefully ambiguous. Largely inspired by Ross Bleckner and Odilon Redon's Black work.
