Art Description

Painting: Oil, Glass, ash on Wood.

A piece concerned mainly with the contrast of different colored washes, The colors are deliberately beautifully warm and dark and ugly. The overlapping of these hues denotes the overlapping of beauty and ugliness in life, as parallel to art. The added thin touches of ash accentuate all this implication by introducing a layer of texture that corresponds to the values in which they sit.
