About The Artwork

While I was riding the bus, jammed between passengers, standing in the back of the bus, watching people trying to keep their balance - I thought about the colors of the lights and reflections, as well as the engulfing heat of the Mediterranean night. The picture is somewhat claustrophobic, with people crushed into each other's spaces; but at the same time, there is a sense of adventure. All these individuals are in the crush of getting somewhere. They can't quite see clearly in the yellow overhead light, but they can feel all the others breathing and jostling for a space. It's now a quiet picture, but then city transportation is noisy in its sights as well as its sounds. This picture was started many years ago, and finished recently. It was such a pleasure to work in acrylic again. I use the highest quality of acrylic paint, and it adhered easily to background colors that had remained vibrant after so many years in the closet. Buses have changed since then, with COVID 19 there are separations and less crowding.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Art is a passion, which I steadfastly develop in my own way, getting inspiration from fragments of poetry, photographs or stories, rather than from drawings or paintings of other artists. Dr. Dalia Hakker-Orion, curator of my solo exhibition in Tel Aviv wrote: “She doesn’t paint according to instructions or styles, but evolves at her own pace, creating original paintings manifesting passages connecting different realities.” My story stretches from my childhood home in Southern California to the Sea of Galilee in Israel. My dual citizenship has strongly influenced my perspectives. From multiple traditions, art emerges as the visual expression of movement and multi-layered ideas. I am currently working with encaustic paint that I make in my studio. My work incorporates a variety of materials: oil, acrylic, pastel, pencil sketches, and found objects.
