Contact us.Painting has always been a constant in my life. There is an urge to create that never leaves me, and it is this pull that keeps my practice so close to my heart.
I am a Dublin-based artist working in watercolour and oil. My work includes atmospheric landscapes and seascapes, still life, botanicals, wildlife and portraiture.
I see creativity not as something reserved for the studio but as a way of being. I notice something and I want to paint it.
While working in watercolour, I use a lot of water, letting the pigment move freely across the paper. Although I begin with a reference, I let the paint find its own way, and it often creates something more beautiful. Oil painting is done layer by layer, working into the surface until the colour and texture feel just right.
I draw inspiration from the natural world and the shifting character of the landscape through the seasons, as well as from the quiet beauty of everyday objects and their arrangement of colour and form.
Within each painting, you may notice a memory, a colour or a place that feels familiar. I hope they invite viewers to reflect on recollections of their own.
Exciting news this year - I'll be exhibiting at Art Source, RDS Dublin, Ireland from 13–15 November (Stand J38).
Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope something here stays with you.
