I'm an Australian artist living in Andover, Massachusetts. Having a fine woodworking background, I approach my art in a way that allows me to inject my skills as a woodworker into the piece. For sculptural pieces this might mean I rely heavily on these skills; for flat pieces, not so much. However, there will almost always be a woodworking aspect involved in my art. My main goal is to take wood as my foundation and explore its visual, textural and supportive possibilities. This may mean highlighting the natural beauty of the grain, or in other instances augmenting with materials, mediums or treatments not typically associated with woodworking, all with the intended purpose of increasing accessibility for art-lovers.
