Sadly our oceans are threatened - the beautiful corals that have thrived for millenia are bleaching - the oceans are getting too warm and too polluted. Fortunately there are still places where you can enjoy the incredible beauty of the under water world. Maybe you have tried snorkling in warm waters - or you have been to some amazing aquarium. I hope this painting will convey some of the wonderful feeling you can have when you get in close contact with nature in all it's beauty. I was born in Denmark, and have been drawing and painting since early youth. I have lived in Germany and France, where I had my own fashion brand. I moved to Italy in 2000 and decided to give up fashion design and devote myself full-time to painting -- a decision I have never regretted. My chief source of inspiration are the many diverse cultures I have come across during my numerous trips. I always loved beautiful textiles, but I also draw inspiration from the shapes and color combinations of the traditional arts of China, Korea and Japan, and African and Oceanic tribal art. And I should not forget to add that I just love flowers and gardens - always an inexhaustible source of inspiration. I hope that the my paintings convey to the viewer something of the visual stimulation and excitement that I feel when I have created a new work.
