ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A bright blue sky, a calm ocean and golden sands set the backdrop for a burst of colour in the form of wild flora. Poppies, Cornflowers and Foxgloves dance merrily together. A joyful burst of Summer colour by the seaside. Inspired by my continued travels and adoration of the British coastline. In particular the Cornish Coastal Path, Devon and Cornwall.

I studied Textile Design at college and after graduating spent 16 years designing surface pattern for the home furnishings industry. After the Millennium it became increasingly necessary to complete work in a digital format. Although I could work in this way for me personally the passion, reward and creativity were compromised. I then went into teaching for a number of years but never stopped painting. For me painting allows the freedom to create, invent and explore without restriction, it is the perfect way forward for me and I love it.
