About The Artwork
This work is a part of the artist's ongoing obsession with icon-esque female faces that are part human, part ghostly/etheric entity. These faces emerge from the artist's consciousness and have no relation to any living human being. They seek to transmit pure emotion and spiritual qualities: these paintings are explorations of internal struggles and the process of letting go of conditioning to reveal the true self that rests within. A kind of portal into another realm, this small work is a living fragment of the artist's spiritual journey- when painting, she expresses her pain, and then looks to extract what lies beneath and cannot be violated.
