About The Artwork

Cottonwood trees love growing near water, and they give Zion's canyon a beautiful shade and pops of color in the autumn. This painting captures the cottonwood trees in October in Zion National Park. Note: "Cottonwood Shadows" is available for pre-purchase and will be included in the Erin Hanson: Landscapes of the West solo museum exhibition at the Sears Art Museum in St. George, Utah. This museum exhibition, located at the gateway to Zion National Park, will showcase Erin Hanson's largest collection of Western landscape paintings, including paintings of Zion, Bryce, Arches, Cedar Breaks, Arizona, and other Western inspirations. The show will be displayed from June 7 to August 23, 2024. You may purchase this painting online, but the artwork will not ship after the exhibition closes on August 23, 2024.

Erin Hanson creates vibrant and inspiring landscapes in her signature modern blend of classic impressionism and expressionism, which is becoming well known as "Open Impressionism." A bold impasto paint style breathes life into her colorful large wrap canvases. Raised in the Southern California desert, Hanson's thirst for adventure and love for art has been evident from a young age. First painting in oils on a easel constructed by her father while in elementary school, Hanson has rapidly emerged as a must-watch artist for art and nature lovers worldwide.
